Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1/2 cup mixed black gram,mogar moog dal & gram dal


  • 1 Green chilli chopped


  • 1 small piece of ginger grated


  • 1 stem of curry leaves


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 lemon juice


  • 1-tsp salt


  • 1 tsp grated garlic


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 1 mustard


  • 1 cumin


  • 3 cloves


  • 2 pieces cinnamon


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida


  • 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves

Directions

  • Pressure cook 1/2- hr. soaked 3-dals. Add water,salt, turmeric powder, green Chilli, ginger and curry leaves stem and boil for 5-10 mins. Keep stirring in between.
  • For tempering heat small kadhai and add ghee, mustard, cumin,cloves, cinnamon, when starts cracking add garlic, asafoetida, curry leaves and turn off gas and add red chilli powder, immediately pour in boiled dal and cover for a while. Lastly add lemon juice and mix well.
  • Serve tasty trevaty dal in a bowl and garnish with chopped coriander & curry leaves stem.
